The Datum is powered by a reliable quartz movement. This means it keeps stable time with minimal adjustment and does not need winding. You simply set the time, day and date, and replace the battery after a few years of use.

To set the Datum, start by pulling the crown to the first position and rotate it to adjust the date. The day display is usually changed by rotating the hands past midnight in the second crown position. Avoid changing the day or date between approximately 9pm and 3am, as the calendar mechanism is already engaged during this period.

The Datum uses a President style bracelet with removable links, designed to cover most wrist sizes comfortably. If you need a very precise fit, any local watchmaker or jeweller can remove or add links in a few minutes. For most customers, a simple adjustment is enough to achieve a secure and comfortable fit.
